Why we built this
Arizona has one of the tightest rental markets in the country, and a lot of buildings in Phoenix, Tucson and Tempe still run strict no-pet policies. For someone whose anxiety, depression or PTSD is genuinely eased by their animal, that turns into an impossible choice: give up the animal, or give up the apartment.
The websites offering to solve that problem were, frankly, a mess. Instant approval with no conversation. Providers licensed in a different state. Registration kits and ID cards that carry no legal weight whatsoever. Landlords learned to distrust the whole category, and the people who paid the price were the ones with a real need.
We built Arizona ESA Letter to do the boring version properly: a licensed Arizona clinician, a real consultation, an honest decision, and a letter written the way a property manager expects to read it.
What we stand behind
Arizona licenses only
Documentation for an Arizona resident should come from an Arizona-licensed provider. Their name and license appear on your letter so you can check.
Nothing charged unless approved
Our clinicians are not paid more for saying yes, and you are not billed for a no.
Current law, not comfortable law
When HUD changed its enforcement stance in May 2026, we rewrote our pages. Telling you the old version would have been easier to sell and worse for you.
No novelty products
We do not sell registrations, certificates, ID cards or vests. None of them is legally required and we will not take money for the impression that they are.
Privacy that is not just a page
Encrypted in transit and at rest, HIPAA-aligned access controls, and no selling of client data to anyone, for any price.
What we are not
We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice. We are not an emergency service. We are not a registry, and there is no such thing as a government ESA registry in the United States. We cannot promise a landlord will approve your request, and any service that does is telling you something it cannot deliver.
How we handle the parts we get wrong
If a letter has an error, we fix it and reissue at no charge. If a clinician declines you, you are not billed and you will be told the reason. If something on this site is out of date or wrong, write to support@arizonaesaletter.org and we will correct it. Andrew Patel, LCSW reviews these pages, and corrections that come from readers get read by a person.

About us, in plain terms
Are you a law firm?
No. We are a telehealth service that connects you with licensed Arizona clinicians. We can explain how the rules generally work, but we cannot advise you on your specific dispute. For that, contact the Arizona Attorney General's Civil Rights Division or a fair housing attorney.
Are you affiliated with HUD, the ADA or any government agency?
No. We are a private company. No government agency endorses, certifies or registers ESA letter services, and any site claiming otherwise is misleading you.
How is this different from the cheap sites?
The main difference is that a licensed Arizona clinician speaks with you before anything is signed. That is the whole ballgame. A letter produced by a form with no consultation behind it is the kind property managers have learned to reject.
What are your hours?
Our office runs seven days a week from 7 AM to 11 PM Arizona time. Online support is available 24 hours a day.
